Hey fellow PCOSians ...... I attained puberty when I was 14. All was well till my sweet 16. After my sixteenth birthday (not exactly on my birthday, just an approximate calculation) my body started to show some weird symptoms. Acne, hair loss, stubborn fat around my belly and breast, fatigue, skin tags, dark patches around my neck and to top it all irregular menstrual cycle and mood swings.
Well ... I am from a typical typical Indian background. Like all other mothers of India mine also believed that the symptoms will magically fade away one day like it sprouted. Me, being the good kid I am trusted my mom's words. Worst of all these symptoms didn't stop me from having junk foods, deep fried foods, fast foods, sugary foods, etc. ... As my parents say " if you don't eat them now, when will you eat ? Besides you look soooo puny comparing to the other kids of your age."
Me, being the good kid I am obeyed their words. But soon the time came when my parents eventually decided to eat their own words . They found something funny in their under-nurtured girl. She is still looking thin but her upper body is gradually swelling to make her almost look like a kwashiorkor victim.
They told me to get rid of my all time favourite foods. Me, now being the kid who is under the control of her body's whims and fancies disobeyed them
To be continued...........
